Lithos Enhanced Rock Weathering
Lithos specialises in Enhanced Rock Weathering, a carbon removal method that involves applying up-cycled volcanic rock fines to actively managed land. Lithos partners with quarries that produce millions of tons of basalt dust as a waste byproduct, and carefully sources materials that are appropriate for rapid carbon capture in 2-3 years. Lithos then works with farmers to rapidly decarbonise the crops grown and improve soil health, while paying farmers carbon revenue. To ensure verified removals, Lithos only delivers ex-post and empirically quantified carbon removal.

Turtle hatchling protection
Six out of seven species of sea turtles are threatened or endangered. This project protects this "keystone species". This project provides grant funding to the organisations working on small budgets. The funds go towards paying local residents to patrol important turtle nesting beaches, protecting turtles that come up to nest and ensuring that the eggs are protected, and guiding the hatchlings to the sea. SEE Turtles grants have already resulted in 10 million hatchlings being saved! They’re aiming to save 1 billion.

Plastic recovery & recycling
Around 13 million tons of plastic end up in our oceans every year. Floating plastic debris are currently the most common items of marine litter. Your funds will help clear the world of plastic waste. The projects make plastic collection and recycling profitable for some of the most marginalised and impoverished people in the world, creating jobs and stopping plastic from entering our rivers and oceans.

Kelp restoration Santa Monica Bay
The kelp forest ecosystems off the southern California coast are known to be some of the most diverse and productive ecosystems in the world. They are vital for providing habitat and food for over 700 marine species and protect neighboring coastlines from erosion and pull in carbon dioxide from the ocean as they grow. Globally, kelp forests have been lost to sea urchins, which in great numbers consume and prevent the recovery of kelps. The Bay Foundation restores these kelp forests with teams of SCUBA divers. Kelp forests that have been lost for decades return to health within months of their efforts. Restoring kelp forests feeds humanity, provides for wildlife, and counters climate change.
